Liquid Death has announced a new promotional campaign taking off this summer: a literal fighter jet giveaway.
That's right, folks, Liquid Death will turn one lucky canned water drinker into the owner of an Aero L-39C Albatros aircraft nicknamed The Dehydrator, which is capable of reaching speeds of around 470 mph with nearly 4,000 foot-pounds of thrust. Incredibly, the company “is not joking at all.”
The contest is billed as a good-natured jab at Pepsi, which went to court in the '90s after someone tried to cash in on an unserious commercial's offer to give away a fighter jet prize (as shown in the 2022 documentary). Pepsi, where's my jet?). Pepsi won that case and never delivered the plane, but now Liquid Death plans to do what Pepsi would never do. The contest FAQ even says “you won't have to take us to court to get a plane.”
To earn the jet yourself, all you have to do is purchase Liquid Death at a physical store, save the physical receipt, and upload it to a page on the Liquid Death website. Each can is considered one entry (so an eight-pack has eight entries). The contest starts today (May 21) and runs until September 4.
In addition to the plane itself, the winner will receive six months of free hangar space rental for The Dehydrator, a jet pilot's helmet, a cup holder “perfect for a can of Liquid Death,” and a year's supply of Liquid Death . Plus, if you're not sure how much flying you really want to do, you have the option of taking home an alternative prize of $250,000.

Previously, Liquid Death had gained a reputation for unique advertising campaigns, such as grandmothers playing death metal and a partnership with Travis Barker to sell enemas.
