Regardless of how many people may feel, action figures are still very popular collectibles among mature adults. With that in mind, toy maker Super7 is releasing a line of figures featuring one of your favorite Hip-Hop artists from the past.
According Variety, Super7 is set to add to their already illustrious line of Hip-Hop figures and will now honor Salt-N-Pepa for their latest appearance in Hip-Hop. The news comes after the brand had already seen success with releases from previous Hip-Hop figures, which included The Notorious BIG, OutKast, The RZA, Ghostface Killah and DMX among a few others.
Now that Salt-N-Pepa is getting her own figures, don't be surprised if these collectibles show up at your middle-aged sugar mama's house (just saying).

On May 29, San Francisco-based pop culture collectibles maker Super7 will release a two-pack of plastic figures modeled after Salt-N-Pepa's appearances from the music video for “Push It.” their breakthrough song. Released in 1987, “Push It” immediately overshadowed the track “Tramp”, earning a Grammy nomination after selling nearly 1.5 million copies worldwide. The eight jackets worn by the figures instantly conjure up images of both the video and the cover of the 1988 single 'Shake Your Thang', with the same outfits. (Sadly, Super7 won't be recreating the jackets themselves — at least, not yet.)
As for how Super7 selects the artists they want to immortalize in plastic miniature, it's pretty simple as the company's spokesperson explained:
Describing their approach to selecting artists or characters for their product lines, a Super7 spokesperson explained: “Our goal is to honor artists who have made a significant impact on the music industry, pop culture, and who have also impacted our lives. We work with the artist or their representatives to decide what era to celebrate, such as an album or music video. The discussion also includes what factor of form and stylization would be appropriate for the artist.'
