Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex — who's been a staple on New York airwaves for decades — isn't feeling Tommy Richman's “Million Dollar Baby.”
In fact, the legendary DJ went on an epic rant about how much he dislikes the song, going so far as to call those who like it “clowns.”
“If you're somebody who likes that song, you're a clown,” Flex said. “That song… I don't know what the rest of his songs sound like. I don't even know who Tommy Richman is. Sounds like a shoe store. Now we're going to document this hot garbage. We're going to play it now, I know you want to hear it. I wonder if that's big at the club.”
He then says, “See this track is fake like it's a good song,” when talking about the song's intro. Adding, “Watch the awesome part as it comes in… where you hear the tin can drums,” as the beat begins to build and Tommy Richman's voice kicks in.
Another user posted what sounds like another parody as Flex plays the record again. This time the DJ tells his listeners that he's going to play a record fit for New York to “bring us back from the depths of hell, from the depths of trash” and then adds that the song “sounds like it was made the one Casio machine.” Flex also says that the song makes him question why he's a DJ and wonders if he's gotten “old” before recognizing how big the record is.
You can hear listeners freaking out and being amused by what Flex is saying on both recordings.

This rant comes at an opportune time for the Virginia singer after making an announcement Tuesday on his Instagram Story. A few days ago, he posted a teaser on his IG for his next single with the caption, “Devil is a lie.” So maybe this announcement has something to do with that.
“Million Dollar Baby” is currently at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been on the charts for the past five weeks, peaking at No. 2.
He seems to be getting a lot of clowning.
