Cardi B's long-awaited sophomore album finally seems to be getting some traction. The Grammy-winning rapper took to social media to tease the title of her upcoming LP.
While she didn't reveal the name, Cardi challenged the Bardi gang to guess what she had in mind in a post on Her Instagram story on Thursday (June 20).
“What do you think the name of my album is?” Cardi B asked while appearing to cover the caption with her hand in a photo of the rapper. The 31-year-old appeared to be messing around on her computer when she made the post.
As the wait for the album continues, Cardi continues to drop features left and right. She joined forces with Mexican rapper Peso Pluma to dish some bilingual bars on “Put Em in the Fridge.” The track was released on streaming services on Friday (June 21) as part of Peso's Exodus album.
Cardi B lent another package of stimulus in the form of a lyric when she hopped on GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion's “Wanna Be,” which dropped on May 31. It peaked at No. 15 the following week on the Billboard Hot 100.
The “WAP” rapper must have changed her mind about album plans, as Cardi claimed in May that she wasn't planning on putting out an LP. “Anyway NO album this year I don't care I'm taking it easy this year… Leaving these features I had already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer,” she wrote to X at the time.
However, reps for the rapper were confirmed soon after on her album-motherhood-offset-marriage-1235018536/” target=”_blank”>Rolling rock cover that an album was still on the calendar for 2024.
Her debut album Breach of privacy arrived in April 2018 and debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. Every song on the project is certified at least platinum by the RIAA, and it won Best Rap album at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
