The pair made their Glastonbury debut at the weekend
Romy and Jessie Ware capture the club day energy with “Lift You Up”. On Monday, the artist pair officially released the single, which premiered at Glastonbury over the weekend.
“I've been a fan of Jessie's music for a long time and it was amazing to finally work together after many years of friendship,” Romy said in a press release. “We wanted this song to be uplifting, to celebrate camaraderie, and I can't think of a better way to share that with everyone than at Glastonbury.”
Ware added that she was “so proud” of the song and praised Romy's “beautiful voice” on the Stuart Price-produced track. The new track marked a reunion for the pair after the former xx member joined Ware as a songwriter on Tough Love“Share It All” in 2014.
