Time may have taken Avicii, but his music continues to move millions.
The late EDM icon's music echoed across the grounds of Tomorrowland over the weekend as a group of DJs, united by respect and admiration, wove his timeless tracks into their sets.
Prior to this year’s festival, Avicii’s “Levels” had been named the best anthem in Tomorrowland history after garnering the most votes from fans in their “Tomorrowland Top 1000” poll. Naturally, the festival transformed into a bittersweet symphony for Avicii, whose generational dance anthem found new life in the hands of Hardwell, Afrojack and many more across its three days.
Some, like Dutch dance music superstar Oliver Heldens, even broke down in tears on stage.
“Maybe it's also the lack of sleep and the heat, but the moment the iconic tune of 'Levels' first played, I couldn't hold back my tears,” Heldens writes. “It's been over 6 years since we lost Tim, but I know he will live on in many of our hearts.”

Elsewhere at Tomorrowland, Hardwell paid tribute to Avicii in a rare EDM-style set, playing “Levels” to a crowd we’re willing to bet also shed more than a few tears.
“If we're gonna do a retro set, there's only one record, one fucking record,” an emotional Hardwell said before launching into the song.
.@HARDWELL: “If we're gonna do a retro set, there's a fucking record. Make some noise for us.” @Avicii“.

Afrojack performed a medley of Avicii songs on the Tomorrowland Main Stage, playing “Levels,” “A Sky Full of Stars,” “Wake Me Up” and “Fade Into Darkness” in the sunshine.

3 Are Legend, the EDM supergroup consisting of Steve Aoki and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, interpolated Aloe Blacc's vocals from Avicii's “Wake Me Up” into an electrifying mashup, resulting in one particularly moving singing moment.

The same goes for Brazilian dance music superstar Alok, who paired the a cappella track “Wake Me Up” with a mashup that included Otto Knows' “Million Voices,” Swedish House Mafia's “Don't You Worry Child” and Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso's “Calling (Lose My Mind).”
