With her new single “Wild Hearts,” Amba Shepherd doesn't just push boundaries – she turns them on and dances through hell.
EDM enthusiasts will recognize Shepherd as the thunderous voice behind Hardwell's 2012 generational dance anthem “Apollo,” as well as his notable collaborations with Porter Robinson, Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack and many other electronic music icons.
But he strikes out on his own on “Wild Hearts,” a house anthem for the wild spirits lurking in polite society. Over a high-energy four-four beat, he challenges you to go on a midnight car chase with your own demons: “Into the wild we go,” he declares.
And suddenly there you are, tasting freedom on your tongue. A whiplash of raw emotion, Shepherd’s voice carves a luminous path through an electro-tinged drop with synths that cut like blades, leaving behind a trail of shattered expectations. “Wild hearts can’t be broken,” he screams with middle fingers painted gold.
