Nicki Minaj season is upon us. The rapper announced on Friday (November 8) that she will be celebrating her one-year anniversary Pink Friday 2 with Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatuswhich will arrive on December 13th.
Nikki has previously been teased Pink Friday 3but it looks like it's going to go in a different direction The Hiatuswhich will serve as the final lavish installment and the closing of his chapter PF2 time.
“Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus The final deluxe installment On the 1 year Anniversary of PF2 12.13.24,” he wrote on X.
Fans had mixed reactions to the news. While the Barbz were ecstatic to know they'd be getting new music, they were also worried about a “hiatus” meaning Minaj would potentially be away from music for an extended period of time in 2025.
“IS THIS DELUXE OR HIATUS I'M CONFUSED-,” one fan wrote on Twitterwhile other he added, “Wait, I left out the pause word…. I don't know how to feel right now.”
Minaj was originally slated to retire Pink Friday 2: Gag City Reloaded in September to coincide with the second leg of her record-breaking Pink Friday 2 World tour in the US, but rotating Pink Friday 3.
“Instead of doing a DELUXE on Pink Friday 2, I decided to do a brand new album. I will continue to incorporate new songs like #Mamita & [The ‘anxiety’ song] for the rest of the tour…and I will announce the new date within the next two weeks,” he tweeted at the time. “The new music is too good to be thrown on a fancy album. Last night, the songs I recorded were very iconic. I love you guys so much. You know this. I know you do. I'll give you one more thing before the announcement, so don't worry.”
It is unclear if there are any plans yet Pink Friday 3 until her next season, or if it has been replaced with The Hiatus deluxe edition.
The 41-year-old rapper wrapped up the second leg of her North American world tour in October, which was already the highest-grossing and best-selling rap tour by a woman in Boxscore history after the first leg.
Pink Friday 2 arrived on December 8, 2023, and debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 228,000 album-equivalent units, according to Luminate.
