Ice Cube is back. The Compton icon has announced plans for his first album since 2018 Everything is corrupt. Cube revealed on Monday (November 11) that his Man down LP is set to hit streaming services later this month on November 22nd.
“The album my fans have been waiting for,” Cube wrote in his social media post about his 11th album. “MAN DOWN is out 11/22, pre-order the album now.”
The NWA alum unveiled the cover featuring a black teenager walking down the street surrounded by workers and other members of society face down and passed out.
Fans were excited to hear that Cube was delivering another album before the year was out. “Ugh, some people pissed off Cube and we love it,” one person wrote. Someone else shouted: “Whoaaaah let's take it Cube with lots of love and respect!”
According to Apple Music, Man down features 19 tracks in total and includes features from Snoop Dogg, Too Short, E-40, Xzibit, B-Real, Busta Rhymes, Kurupt, October London and more. Previously released singles like “It's My Ego” and “Ego Maniacs” are also in the works.
“Being in the game for almost 40 years, I've seen waves come and go,” Cube said Bootleg Kev on Monday. “Around the Laugh now, cry later record, right before that record I was like, “When I get an Anita Baker record, I want it to sound like Anita Baker.”
The Lench Mob frontman continued: “I felt like Ice Cube fans are the same way. When they pick it up, they want it to be authentic, beefed-up Ice Cube. That's what I worry about delivering… That's what I've been focused on — making records that are all me.”
I'm looking for Man down will be released on November 22. Check out the cover below.
