BLINKs are counting down the days until BLACKPINK reunites in 2025 — and so is LISA.
To her Bulletin board Cover posted on Thursday (November 14), the 27-year-old K-pop superstar opened up about her plans with bandmates ROSÉ, JENNIE and JISOO to re-launch full-band activities next year after spending the past year and a half focusing on in individual projects. “I can't wait,” she excitedly told writer Nolan Feeney about the planned return.
“We know each other so well and we know how much energy we have to put into each project,” he continued. “So we want to support and say, 'You did really well!' Like, JENNIE and Rosie just released their own songs, and we're on texts, we're on FaceTime. They are like family. I'm so glad they're releasing something. That's what we all wanted to do, so I just wanted to say that I really love their songs.”
Following the conclusion of the band's Born Pink World tour in July 2023 — which supported the Billboard 200-topping album Born Pink — LISA has spent the past two months releasing independent singles like the Billboard Hot 100 hits “Rockstar” and “New Woman” featuring Rosalía. Meanwhile, ROSÉ is preparing to release a solo album, rosé; Jenny filmed The Weeknd's The idol last year and released a new single titled “Mantra” in October. and JISOO has focused on acting in Korean TV and film projects.
Their separate paths, however, will cross again sometime in 2025, with YG Entertainment announcing the same much earlier this year. The label also promised that the comeback would be coupled with another world tour – but there they might have lost LISA, who looked a little unsure while speaking to Bulletin board.
“Is that what they say?” she said — appearing slightly incredulous — about the YG tour news. LLOUD's Alice Kang added, “I don't know… We'll have to wait and see what YG confirms.”
LISA's cover comes just over a month since her latest single, “New Woman,” was released in October. On Tuesday (November 12), she posted a mysterious teaser video to 'Rockstar', with a cryptic countdown appearing on her website at the same time.
Fans immediately hoped the latter was marking an announcement about her upcoming album, which the Thai singer-rapper says Bulletin board“I'm trying to figure it out, the track list and everything, what can I change there.”
“It's all there,” he adds. “I think they'll be shocked at how capable I am [at] doing so many things.”
