With its latest event, Wynn Nightlife aims to prove that even in the velvet-lined halls of Las Vegas, there's room for a little Southern comfort.
The company, a vanguard of Las Vegas' historic nightlife sector, has announced Desert Saddle, its first hybrid dance and country event. XS Nightclub's two-day takeover is scheduled for December 6-7, coinciding with the National Finals Rodeo, the premier professional rodeo championship in the US.
Country-influenced EDM, colloquially referred to as “YeeDM,” has seen a surge in popularity in 2024. Insomniac Events launched a “lounge rave” experience, YeeDC, on the grounds of EDC Las Vegas, one of the largest EDM festivals of the world. At SoCal's Stagecoach Festival, Diplo curated a take on the “HonkyTonk Dance Hall” stage and featured Marshmello and The Chainsmokers, among other notable DJs.
In partnership with Paris Texas, Wynn Nightlife is now poised to strategically leverage this emerging market demand.
“Wynn Nightlife is committed to challenging the status quo by constantly embracing innovation and seeking new opportunities that lead market demand,” Ryan Jones, vice president of Wynn Nightlife, said in a press release. “We are excited to partner with Paris Texas and capitalize on the growing popularity of the country music genre and the success of country music festivals, as we see significant potential and long-term success in this market.”
Headliners for the inaugural Desert Saddle event include Kane Brown, Marshmello, Brandi Cyrus, Dustin Lynch and VAVO. Cyrus, the eldest daughter of country music icon Billy Ray Cyrus, has long been an advocate for the dance music community.
“I think what I like most is how familiar it feels,” Cyrus said. EDM.com in a May interview. “The dance music community is really very loving and welcoming and loves discovering new artists and new music. I think it's something cool that you don't see all the time.”
