Live from the Short n' Sweet tour, it's Domingo.
On Sunday night (November 17) at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, Sabrina Carpenter brought a very special guest straight from Miami for her tour, where she busts a crowd member for being “too hot” before the lively song of “Hera.” This time, it was Domingo, the seducer Saturday Night Live The character played by Marcello Hernandez, who comes from a viral skit last month to the tune of Carpenter's smash hit 'Espresso'.
“My name is Domingo,” Hernandez said from the crowd to loud cheers after getting Carpenter's attention. When Carpenter asks where she's from (“I'm from Miami, baby,” he growls), she replies, “I wish you were from my bedroom.”
Hernandez then rips off Carpenter's lyrics once again, paraphrasing the words with the sass Short n' Sweet cut “Bed Chem”: “I'm the cute boy with the blue jacket and the thick accent.”
“Do you want to say something before I arrest you, Domingo?” Carpenter asks, sending him straight to the original SNL sketch: “It came all this way that I had to explain directly from Domingo/ Sabrina's a friend, she's like my sister… but I'd stick around though.”
Domingo's first appearance in SNL came on October 12 and featured host Ariana Grande singing an uncharacteristically off-key bridesmaid song. Carpenter reacted to this when she made her debut last month, joking on her Instagram Story alongside a clip: “Pretty cool on the court too.” Sharing the singer's assessment on her own Instagram Story, Grande responded: “Chim we tried.”
Hernandez's appearance on the tour was especially timely after Domingo reappeared on the final episode of the long-running sitcom on Saturday night, when host Charli XCX starred in a new skit to Chappell Roan's “Hot to Go” (“DOMINGO” fit perfect to all along).
Earlier in the tour, Carpenter was “arrested” Stranger Things Star Millie Bobby Brown on her stop in Atlanta, saying, “I'm really distracted right now because I'm seeing this gorgeous girl,” as she interacted with the actress on the big screen.
Sunday's show was one of three stops on Carpenter's Los Angeles-area tour, kicking off Friday night at the Crypto.com Arena — where he brought out Christina Aguilera for “What a Girl Wants” and “Ain't No Other Man” – and the Monday night wrap back to the forum.
