Based on mid-week sales and streaming data recorded by Official chart companyGrande needs to win her fifth UK chart title Eternal sunshine (via Republic Records).
The American pop star previously topped the weekly survey in 2016 Dangerous womanof 2018 Sweetenerof 2019 thanks, next and 2020 Seats.
Grande's seventh studio LP, Eternal sunshine is also set to place three songs in the top 20 of the Official Singles Chart, including lead singles “yes, and?”, “we can't be friends (wait for your love)” and “bye” (according to the UK chart criteria, no more than three songs from an artist's album can affect the national singles chart).
Meanwhile, British heavy metal veterans Judas Priest could be making a career best of their 19th and final studio album, Invincible Shield (Colombia). Fronted by Rob Halford, Judas Priest's career-best No.4 peak with the 1980s British Steel.
Completing a brand new chart topper is Bleachers' self-titled fourth studio LP (via Dirty Hit). It's new at No.3 on the chart explosion, and will likely set a new career high for Jack Antonoff's American pop-rock outfit.
'80s girl group Bananarama could make first top 10 appearance after 36 years of back-to-back hits Glorious – The Ultimate Collection (London Music stream). It is new to No. 6 of the Official Chart Update. The “Cruel Summer” singers previously enjoyed top spots with their 1983 debut Deep sea skiing (at No. 8) and of 1988 The Greatest Hits Collection (No. 3).
Another all-female British pop outfit eyeing a top 10 return — Girls are allowed. Following the release of a 20th anniversary reissue, including three previously unknown tracks featuring vocals from late band member Sarah Harding, Girls Aloud's second album since 2004's What will the neighbors say? (Polydor/UMR) tracks at No. 10.
Finally, new releases from Grace Petrie (Build Something Better at No. 17 via Robots Need Home), Norah Jones (Visions at No. 35 via EMI) and former Sonic Youth star Kim Gordon (The Collective at No. 37 via Matador) are on target for top 40 spots.
