She's only a week away from her long-awaited seventh album Eternal sunshine drops, Ariana Grande has confirmed which of her 13 tracks will serve as her next single: “We Can't Be Friends.”
The 30-year-old pop star broke the news via video on social media on Friday (March 1). In the clip, Grande sits in an ominous waiting room while going over a consent form. Next to the phrase “You have thought long and hard about your decision and given 'Brighter Days Inc.' exclusive permission to completely remove this person from your memory,” her pen hovers over the “No” checkbox — until she puts a check mark next to “Yes” at the last second.
The star then signs her name as “Peaches” on the contract line. “We can't be friends,” reads a message on the next screen. “I'm coming soon.”
The track will serve as the second single off Eternal sunshine, following the January Billboard Hot 100 hit “Yes, And?” Grande has previously stated that she won't be releasing any more songs before the album, meaning fans likely won't hear “We Can't Be Friends” until March 8, when the LP arrives.
Grande's latest announcement comes three days after the singer revealed her full Eternal sunshine tracklist, which shows the upcoming single's full title as “We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” at No. 10. The listing promises just one featured guest — “Nonna,” aka his grandmother Grande, on the latest track, “Ordinary Things.”
