Bulletin boardThe Top Albums Sales chart ranks the best-selling albums of the week based on traditional album sales only. The history of the chart dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Bulletin board began charting electronically tracked track count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Net album sales was the sole metric used by the Billboard 200 album chart through the list dated December 6, 2014, after which that chart changed to a methodology that combines album sales with track-equivalent album units and album-equivalent units flow. Of the nearly 9,000 copies sold This is how tomorrow moves in its opening week, vinyl sales made up the bulk of that number – 5,000 sales. The album was available in six different versions (color variants and picture disc). The set also debuts at No. 5 on the Vinyl Albums chart.
Tomorrow also lands in the top 10 on a number of other Billboard album charts: Indie Store album Sales (No. 2), Top Alternative Albums (No. 5), Indie Albums (No. 6), Top Rock Albums (No. .7 ) and Top Rock & Alternative Albums (No. 10). The set also charted at No. 34 on the overall Billboard 200 – her first top 40 chart effort on that chart.
Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums and sort, respectively, the most popular rock and alternative, rock and alternative albums of the week by respective album units. At No. 1 on Top Selling Albums, Taylor Swift's Department of Tormented Poets records its eighth non-consecutive week at the top of the chart, selling 28,000 copies (down 67%). Stray Kids chart topper ATE up 3-2 with 18,000 (down 29%), Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess jumps 7-3 (a new high) with 14,000 (up 71%), former ENHYPEN leader Romance: Unspeakable is unmoved at No. 4 with 10,000 (down 16%) and Billie Eilish's Hit with hard and soft stagnates at No. 5 with nearly 10,000 (down 8%).
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard's Flight b741 holds at No. 7 on the Top Albums Sales, marking the band's fourth top 10 and matching the band's highest ranking on the chart. The new studio album sold nearly 8,500 copies in its first week, mostly from vinyl sales. Its two variations combined to sell 7,000 – enough for its No. 2 debut on the Vinyl Albums chart.
Logic records his 10th set of top 10 charts on the Top Selling Albums chart as Ultra 85 bows at No. 8 with nearly 7,000 sales. About 5,500 of that amount was from vinyl album purchases (across four variations) and the set debuts at No. 4 on the Vinyl Albums chart. The album was only available for purchase as a vinyl LP or as a digital download.
Rounding out the top 10 best-selling albums: Charli XCX's Brat jumps 12-9 with 6,000 sales (up 2%) and Twisters: The album climbs 17-10 with nearly 5,500 sold (up 9%).
