Shakira is about to release her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, her first in seven years on Friday (March 22). Ahead of the Colombian hitmaker's big release, Advertising sign breaks down Shakira's biggest chart hits, proving why the “Te Felicito” singer is a global force to be reckoned with.
The singer and songwriter from Barranquilla, Colombia first entered the Advertising sign chart in 1996 with her pop anthem “Estoy Aquí,” which topped the Latin Pop Airplay chart and reached No. 2 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. It was the first of many to follow — to date, Shakira has scored 49 songs, with 35 Top 10 and 13 No. 1 hits, including “Suerte (Whenever, Wherever),” “Que Me Quedes Tu” and ” Loba”.
With 49 songs on Latin Songs, she becomes the woman with the third most career no.1s, just behind Karol G with 63 and Ednita Nazario with 53. Meanwhile, Shakira has 21 No. 1s on Latin Airplay, the most of every female artist. On the Hot 100, she debuted with “Whenever, Wherever” in 2001, which peaked at No. 6. Since then, she has charted 27 more songs. On the Billboard 200, Shakira has 13 entries with five top 10s. Her 2014 self-titled album reached a career high for the singer, peaking at No. 2.
of Shakira Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran will feature eight new tracks alongside previous singles such as “TQG” featuring Karol G, “Te Felicito” featuring Rauw Alejandro, and “El Jefe” featuring Fuerza Regida. A remix on 'Music Sessions Vol.' of Bizarrap production. 53″ with Tiesto will also be included in the set. Shakira re-enlists Bizarrap and Alejandro for new songs, while tapping new collaborators including Cardi B and Grupo Frontera.
