Bobbie Jean Carter, sister of singers Nick and Aaron Carter, has died aged 41.
TMZ reports that Carter died in Florida on Saturday (December 23). The cause of her death was not immediately known at the time of publication.
Bobbie Jean worked as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for her siblings in the early 2000s. She also appeared on the family's E! reality tv show, House of Carters.
Bobbie Jean's brother Aaron died of accidental drowning on November 5, 2022. Her older sister, Leslie, died in 2012 of an accidental drug overdose.
Bobbie Jean is survived by her brother Nick (of the Backstreet Boys) and sister Angel, as well as her daughter, Bella.
“I am shocked to learn of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean. and I will need time to process the terrible reality that this is happening for the third time,” Bobbie Jean's mother, Jane Carter, said in a statement. “When I can think clearly, I will release a fuller statement. but until then I would ask to be allowed to mourn in private.'
“[H]However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, a young child's suffering from the loss of a parent must be far greater,” Jane added. “Well, I would ask the well-wisher to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also without her mother.”
