Britney Spears is giving fans an update on her injured foot following last week’s accident at the Chateau Marmont, revealing in a new Instagram post that she may need surgery to fix it.
Captioning a short video of clips from a recent horseback-riding session Monday (May 6), the pop star wrote, “I honestly wish my life was as wild as it has been portrayed !!! Either way, some sh– actually has happened to my foot and I might have to get surgery … fingers crossed, hopefully not.”
The post comes a few days after Spears shared videos of her bruised, swollen foot on the platform shortly after hurting herself at the Los Angeles hotel. As she explained at the time, the “Toxic” singer had attempted a risky leap in the Marmont’s living room in the early morning of May 2, resulting in what she then believed was a twisted ankle.
The incident was reported to the local fire department at around 12:42 that morning, and an ambulance was dispatched to the hotel. Photos from the scene captured the musician exiting the building barefoot alongside rumored boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz, after which the LAFD confirmed to Billboard that paramedics had departed around 1:17 a.m. without any indication of whether they ever encountered or treated Spears.
Touching on her appearance in the photos from the night, Spears wrote in her new post, “I was in my pajamas and yes, I had been crying because I hurt my foot !!! No breakdown !!!”
She added, “I’m a grown a– woman who is actually very naive in most situations !!!”
Based on Spears’ latest update, her foot injury is more serious than she first believed it to be. In an earlier post, she’d told followers, “Paramedics came to my door and, of course, caused this huge scene, which was so unnecessary, and all I needed was ice.”
“Psss this man is wonderful !!!” the Woman in Me author had added at the time, sharing a photo of her longtime lawyer Mathew Rosengart. “He’s like a father to me and he got me through last night !!! I adore you and admire you mister Mathew !!!”
