What better gift for the holiday season than a new release from BTS's Jimin? Even though all seven members are now enlisted in the South Korean military, ARMY has no shortage of new music and content to enjoy: Immediately following the premiere of a new documentary series on Disney+, Jimin shared a solo song titled “ Closer Than This.” stream it below.
More in line with sweet songs like “Friends” or “Promise” than the high-stakes drama of his 2023 solo album, “Closer Than This” is a love letter to fans and a promise of reunion. “Letting go of your hand for a moment / But it's just a small comma in our story / Just say my name out loud until the days turn purple once again,” she sings in Korean. Her distinctive vocal range is on full display here over light, playful guitar and an earworm hook.
While BTS spent 2023 embracing solo projects, Jimin didn't have much downtime for himself. FACE The focus track “Like Crazy” became the first song to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 by a South Korean solo artist.
