Carin León wowed the 2024 Latin Grammys with a passionate live performance of his song “Despidase Bien” on Thursday night (November 14).
Wearing a wine-colored suit and black cowboy hat with matching boots, the Mexican singer-songwriter was joined by a large gospel choir and rock band, who powerfully backed up his heartfelt lyrics. “I'd like to love you/But I just don't know how/Maybe in another life I'll have a heart that will help me/To look for you and it'll work out,” she sang. .
A notable part of the performance was towards the end when the Gospel team wore traditional handmade masks from Hermosillo, Mexico in honor of Leon's hometown.
“Despidase bien” is part of León's Boca Chueca, Vol. 1 album that won the 2024 award for best contemporary Mexican music album and is up for the coveted album of the year.
You can watch the 25th anniversary of the Latin Grammys on Univision, Galavisión and ViX. The ceremony will include performances by Alejandro Fernández, Becky G, Carín León, Eladio Carrión, Jon Bon Jovi, Kali Uchis and Residente, among others.
