Carmelo Anthony may never get the kudos he deserves for his inability to carry a team (or a “super team” he never really had) to an NBA championship, but the man is a legend in his own right and despite no longer playing in the NBA, that doesn't stop him from opining about today's players and his experiences in the game.
Lately, Melo has been causing a stir with his stories and hot takes on his podcast 19:00 in Brooklynand in the latest episode, Carmelo Anthony and co-host The Kid Mero continue to discuss a number of NBA-related topics, such as LeBron James reaching 40,000 career points, what the San Antonio Spurs need to do to help Victor Wembanyama's future with the franchise and Melo's 1-on-1 games with the GOAT himself, Michael Jordan (lucky bastard!).
Going back and forth with their opinions on the biggest issues in the NBA today, the two men eventually landed on LeBron being the first player in NBA history to reach 40,000 career points, and Melo feels that “First of all 40K it 's crazy. This is crazy. We will never see this. Nobody hits that 40,000. Interestingly enough, LeBron doesn't get as much credit for reaching this milestone even in the age of social media. More proof that the LeBron hate is real. Give this man his respect.
In addition to discussing LeBron's legacy and how he's been making history nearly every season for the past few years, Melo and Mero touched on a few other topics, such as the idea of pairing Victor Wembanyama with Atlanta Hawks star point guard Trae Young. His favorite Jordan Brand sneaker silhouette from his signature line. and of course his 1-on-1 games with Michael Jordan.
