When scheduling conflicts arise at a festival, it can be hard to pick and choose which artists to see. Luckily, for those watching the Coachella 2024 livestream, they’ll be able to pick multiple sets simultaneously for the first time ever.
In a major expansion, YouTube will be offering a multiview channel for the Coachella 2024 livestream. Viewers will be able to stream up to four performances all on one screen, fashioned as a 4×4 grid. As with last year’s livestream, there will be six livestream feeds of Coachella performances to choose from. Via the YouTube app, you’ll be able to stream two different performances from two different stages throughout the whole festival.
YouTube has done this kind of multiview platform before, notably on their NFL Sunday Ticket livestreams for YouTube TV. Now, they’re incorporating the same technology for Coachella’s livestream, with YouTube’s head of live music and artist partnerships Ali Rivera telling The Hollywood Reporter that “The feature was first launched on YouTube TV for March Madness last year, in anticipation of our first season of NFL Sunday Ticket. And now, we’re making multiview available to a global audience across YouTube, bringing fans into the Coachella experience wherever they are.”
The livestream kicks off on YouTube on Friday, April 12th at 4:00pm PST — the first day of Coachella Weekend One. Watch YouTube’s teaser for the Coachella livestream below. And if watching multiple livestreams of Coachella is already giving you FOMO, tickets are still available for both weekends on StubHub.
