Coldplay are getting ready to release Music of the Moon time. On Thursday (June 13), the band announced that the first single from their upcoming 2021 follow-up Music of the Spheres“feelslikeimfallinginlove”, will be released on June 21st. The experiment featured the song's unwieldy title on the face of a disappearing planet with a colorful corona shooting from its surface.
The band teased the anthem from their 10th studio album last week when they posted a 20-second TikTok featuring singer Chris Martin singing the chorus in front of a neon Ferris wheel, shouting, “It feels like I.” falling in love/ You throw me a lifeline/ Oh, not for the first time/ I know I'm not alone.” The start of the roll-out of Coldplay's next artistic phase continued during their stop at Rome's Stadio Olimpico last weekend, where handed out lyric leaflets for the new song.
They also performed the uplifting track at one of the shows, as evidenced by another TikTok in which their devoted fans sang along as if the tune was one of their all-time favorites, as well as another video of what appeared to be the filming of video track. “When you're done shooting your video but the incredible crowd keeps singing your new song,” they captioned another TikTok in which the crowd is lit up with neon bracelets and the band appear to be covered in bright lights during the shoot .
At press time, Coldplay had yet to announce release date or tracklist details Music of the Moon, which singer Martin has been talking about for a year. In January 2023, he said in Toronto City News that the band was nearing completion of what was promised then was the second LP in the Music of the Spheres series. At the time he said, “but that won't be out for a while,” though he did tease that the band “might” start playing some of the new songs live that year.
The endless Bullets The world trek began on March 18, 2022 in Costa Rica and is currently scheduled to conclude with the second of two shows at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand on November 16.
