Free Flight Records pop/folk singer-songwriter Darren Kiely releases his new track, “Say I.” Written alongside Joe Fox and Geoff Warburton, Kiely channels his Irish directness to signal an SOS while seemingly drowning in feelings of self-doubt.
Darren has also just announced that he has confirmed that he will be playing The Great Escape festival in Brighton on May 16, a headline gig in London at LaFayette on May 19 and further dates in Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin.
“'Say I' is a song for when you need reassurance that there is still some light or goodness within you. It is a determined cry for help from someone or something that can reaffirm the light within you.” Kiely says. “I wanted my fans to hear the next song as it sets the tone for the next batch of music I plan to release.”

Inspired by influences such as Mumford & Suns, The Lumineers and Noah Kahan, Kiely has mastered his own distinctive sound while attracting fans around the world. With a busy start to the year so far – “Sunrise” reaching No. 1 on the Irish Homegrown Chart, signing to Free Flight Records and headlining his nearly sold-out 33-date THE LOST TOUR – Kiely continues to capitalize on his momentum with the announcement of plans to join Mat Kearney on the HEADLIGHTS HOME TOUR this fall.
Earlier this year, Kiely released: “slow decay”, a heartbreaking song that struggles to leave something behind and fight to let it go after its song “Sunrise” reached number 1 on the Irish Homegrown chart. “Sunrise” appears on Kiely's debut EP, Lost. Her unique presentation of folk-infused pop and lush storytelling, echoing the backdrop of the Irish countryside where she grew up, is at the forefront of Lost. Kiely solo wrote four of the project's seven tracks and co-wrote the other three. The EP explores the triumphant war of overcoming self-doubt, fighting to find yourself, questioning emotions, and searching for answers. Lost characteristics “Mom Dad”, which debuted in the Top 40 of the Irish Singles chart and also took him to the Top 5 on the Irish Homegrown chart.
