You can add Drake and Metro Boomin on the list of rap stars not doing well. Drizzy's recent jab at the producer prompted a response.
TMZ is reference that Champagne Papi recently hosted a live stream that is now going viral. On Saturday (December 2), the beatsmith took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his disappointment with his album Heroes & Villains doesn't get it's fair share in terms of prices. “Yet Her loss goes on to win Rap Album of the Year over H&V. Proof that the awards are just politics and not about me,” the tweet read. “Honestly, for the awards, the real prize and reward is knowing that the music I spend so much time on brings joy to people's everyday lives.”
Naturally, the post landed on Drake's radar. He soon unfollowed Metro Boomin on social media and Metro deleted the aforementioned post. During a live stream, the “Wick Man” MC addressed his fans and haters alike. “To the rest of you – the non-believers, the underdogs, the tweeters and the deleters – you make me sick to my stomach, glory,” he said. “Look at my eyes – do you want to do something? That's what I thought.”
On Monday (December 13), Metro Boomin posted a sketch that fans believe is his unofficial response to Drake. The video shows four black men wearing wigs with straight hair talking in what are considered “bad boys” on a basketball court. “Calm down Jamal, don't pull the 9,” says one of the actors.
The two previously worked on Drake and Future's 2015 collaboration album, What a time to be alive. You can watch Drake run things below.
