The “craziest party in the world” will soon be coming to Netflix thanks to elrow, or so we thought.
For those unfamiliar, Alice left Wonderland for a stranger, wilder adventure when she stumbled upon an Elrow event. Traveling the world for over a decade to unite electronic music enthusiasts in a bacchanalian celebration, the famous Spanish party brand takes on the mundane by transforming industrial spaces into extravagant adult playgrounds packed with sensory splendor.
Fueled by techno and deep house, the organizer's ghostly events serve as masterclasses in new-age hedonism for a generation that sees life itself as the supreme form of performance art. And apparently Elrow called on that generation to give life to an upcoming Netflix production.
The company's general director, Juan Arnau Jr., today unveiled an upcoming documentary about the streaming service. But the film, which he said had been in production for eight months and was scheduled for release in late 2024, is a hoax.
The fake documentary was announced to celebrate the Day of the Holy Innocents, the Spanish equivalent of April Fools' Day. Despite its dark pagan originsThe holiday, celebrated annually on December 28, is today characterized by whimsical and practical jokes.
Arnau's funny prank even led to a casting call in search of 1,000 fans to travel with the elrow production team and appear as extras at upcoming events in Chile's Atacama Desert, South Africa's Victoria Falls, and the legendary Coliseum in Rome. He said all expenses would be covered, including travel, accommodation, per diem and full access to the fictional shows.
