Cris MJ's latest single, “Si No Es Contigo,” tops this week's new Latin music poll.
In a poll posted Friday (May 24) — in support of the weekly New Music Latin compilation and playlist, curated by Advertising sign Latin and Billboard Español editors — music fans voted the Chilean artist's newest output as their favorite music release of the week.
“Si No Es Contigo,” which translates to “if he's not with you,” shockingly collected almost all of this week's votes (95%), beating out new releases that dropped this week, including Camilo's new album. CuatroTrueno's hip hop set El Último Bailer, by Nathy Peluso Grease album and The GB album by Gabito Ballesteros.
Trueno's third studio album, which thoroughly showcases the genealogical and cultural impact of hip-hop music, came in at number two.
“Si No Es Contigo” is Cris MJ's latest release after the big hits of “Una Noche en Medellín” and, most recently, the FloyyMenor-assisted “Gata Only,” which reached No. 1 in Advertising signHot Latin Songs chart.
The reggaetón song, fused with some Middle Eastern beats, finds the Chilean act tapping into his romantic side. “If it's not with you, love/ I don't want no one else/ You're the only one that I love/ Baby, let's take advantage/ Baby, let's get married,” he sings, while complimenting how beautiful the girl looks in whatever her. is wearing.
Last week, music fans voted for Bacilos' new album Romantic Pequeños as their favorite music release. The set garnered 47% of the vote, followed by a very close second favorite with Luis Fonsi's travel-inspired album, El Viajewith a percentage of over 46%.
