We are in 2024 now. And if our math is math, that means 2011 was 13 years ago, when game of Thrones premiered on HBO, Gotye and Kimbra released “Somebody That I Used to Know,” Steve Jobs quit Apple, and Charlie Sheen was fired from Two and a half Men.
Whether or not you are a fan of all of the above, you can't ignore the fact that they were all iconic moments in their own way. Exhibit A: “Somebody That I Used to Know” became an instant hit, winning two Grammy Awards in 2013 and taking over radio stations around the world for years to come.
Originally written, produced and performed by Australian musician and singer Gotye, the post-breakup ballad also features vocals from New Zealand singer-songwriter Kimbra. Now, the song has received an impressive reworking from a pair of icons from the electronic dance music scene.
FISHER and Chris Lake have teamed up with Italian dance music producer Sante Sansone to deliver their highly anticipated take on the iconic earworm. Dubbed “Somebody (2024),” the uptempo beat is infused with a thick bassline, teasing the main melody before a sudden drop with the timeless chorus that triggers our inner nostalgia.
