During the Summer Flavor Flav once again found himself making noise as he was not only recognized as one of Team USA's biggest cheerleaders during the 2024 Olympics in Paris, but along with Alexis Ohanian helped pay for the rent of Team USA track and field athlete. Veronica Fraley.
Continuing to hold onto that Olympic love until September, Flavor Flav once again showed just how good of a man the man is, and during last night's MTV Video Music Awards, the Hip-Hop icon blessed Olympic gymnast, Jordan Chiles with the kind of gift only he could give.
According to the huffpostthe “Fight The Power” artist blessed Chile with a shiny bronze-colored watch after the gymnast's bronze medal was stripped after the Romanian Gymnastics Federation filed an appeal on behalf of Romania's Ana Barbosu. Naturally this sparked outrage and disbelief among the Americans and prompted Flavor Flav to announce that he had a bronze medal of his own in the works for Chile.
Last night, he finally managed to gift it to her.
Huffpost states:
The moment came about a month after an arbitration panel said it would not review its decision on Chile's medal. USA Gymnastics pledged to continue to “pursue every possible avenue and process of appeal,” including a potential court case.
Flav, who took the stage with Chile to present the Best Collaboration category, turned the VMAs performance into a “little Olympic moment.”
“I know they tried to take your medal, but you know what? I got you something that can't be taken from you,” said Flav, before showing the gift to Chile.
The gymnast beamed with a smile as Flav tied a watch necklace string around her neck. Then, as Chiles looked on in amazement, Flav donned a Team USA water polo cap.
Gotta love Flavor Flav, b.
While we doubt he'll go public with the copper piece, it's still a nice gesture and overall a nice moment.
