Las Vegas, Nevada, Swamp Society's Frankie Goldie and duo Gloom Unit along with Acetone Boogie release their debut full-length. For about a year and a half now, he's established himself as an artist in the underground evil scene, whether it's 7 solo singles or Gloom Unit's debut EP Come on Vary produced by Devereaux which arrives in the New Year with a high reception from the jugglers. But after teasing Vegas Winter: Jugg Motivation 101 for the next week, Frankie decided to let Christmas come early.
After the introduction of “JM101”, the first song “CAKEWALK” opens with Devereaux producing the entire LP working on strings along with talking bells and hats to throw money in the circle like it's a concert, while the lead single ” RAWKZOFF” organically gives me a bit of a Memphis rap vibe (ie, one of my favorite groups Three 6 Mafia) coming to take off his rocks. “CODE BLACK” with Donnie Menace finds the 2 talking about cold-blooded killers in a morbid trap, but then “Rollie” excitedly informs you that it's that time.
“CAVIAR DREAMS” featuring Darby O'Trill is a jazz/trap fusion that earns it's bloody money just before “BRIXINDASAFE” starts to create a cloudier vibe refusing to behave since it stuck its ways. Kold-Blooded's “KATANA” returns to a darker trap sound looking at necks with the sword of the title, while “Lemon Drizzle” is a fun club for drinking dirty Gatorade without mistaking what it has to say a hater. Another standout “Bulletproof Coupe” brings out the aggression by mixing Faygo with Gray Goose and having the digital scale tippin on them before the 6 minute BIGMANEONDABLOCK” fusing trap, jazz rap & soul so he can count his digits.
Vegas Winter: Jugg Motivation 101 looks a lot like Come on Vary is living proof that Swamp Society is a force to be reckoned with in the underground except JM101 it will give you a better idea of who Frankie is artistically and personally. He shows his influences from Insane Clown Posse & Esham to Triple 6 Mafia, Jeezy and even Future over Devereaux as he continues to evolve as a producer throwing additional elements of jazz, soul and influences from the Memphis scene into his signature trap sound here.
