If you've been watching TV during the cold months of January and February, you've probably seen cruise commercials. It's that time of year, escape the cold from wherever you are in the country and enjoy the sun and a semi-tropical atmosphere for a few days. The EDM scene is no different, as several notable “festivals at sea” set sail this time of year. We're lucky enough to be able to share some highlights from the fifth edition of The Friendship of Gary Richards (aka Destructo).
Sailing from Miami to the private island Harvest Caye in Belize aboard the iconic Norwegian Joy, this year's edition of Friendship featured a host of surprise b2b performances, as well as Destructo's iconic Sunrise Sermon. We have some video highlights and photos below.
FriendShip 2024 surprised attendees by reuniting Dog Blood (Skrillex and Boys Noize) for an impromptu set on MainStage, marking the superduo's first official performance since 2019.
Destructo delivered his exclusive Sunrise Sermon set for the first time on FriendShip, which also featured Justin Martin, Bob Moses and more.
The festival's epic four-hour b2b2b closing set 'Last Man Standing' featured heavy hitters like Destructo, Ardalan, Desert Hearts' Mikey Lion, J.Phlip and more.
FriendShip's 'Dial-A-DJ' hotline saw artists such as Bob Moses, VTSS, Mersiv and Nala play intimate and unique pop-up sets in the private booths of lucky attendees, using custom mobile DJ equipment.
Destructo has also announced the dates for the 2025 edition of FriendShip. Sailing February 21-26 next year, the FriendShip will remain on Norwegian Joy and follow the same route from Miami to Harvest Caye, Belize, and back. Can join the waiting list for next year's edition of the FriendShip, one of the main events at sea that exist.
