A second unnamed album will come out three weeks later on April 12
Following much anticipation from fans, Future and Metro Boomin are set to release two collaborative albums in the next month, the Atlanta Hip Hop titans announced on Friday. The first project, called We Don’t Trust You, will release in two weeks on March 22, and a second still-unnamed album will come out three weeks later on April 12.
The duo dropped a trailer for the albums on Friday, with Metro and Future riding through the desert in matching white Rolls Royces while a voiceover says that there’s “a lot of garbage-ass fucking rappers out here running around … this game is meant for a select few.”
The projects are a culmination of one of the most fruitful partnerships in modern hip hop and comes after the two had teased a full collaborative LP multiple times in the past year. Metro and Future have worked together on songs for nearly a decade, and in that time have cemented themselves as two of the most influential producers and rappers in the genre. But until now, they’ve never released a collaborative album together.
Metro has produced several of Future’s biggest hits including “Mask Off,” “Jumpman,” and “Lowlife.” The duo last linked up on several songs for Metro’s 2022 album Heroes and Villains, including “Super Hero” and “Too Many Nights.” It’s none other than Future who says, “If young metro don’t trust you, I’m gon’ shoot you,” in the producer’s famed tagline, and the We Don’t Trust You album name may be a reference to the tag.
