Those in downtown Nashville will officially be able to “slip into the oasis” on March 7th when the grand opening for Friends of Garth Brooks takes place at Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk. Brooks acquired the property, located at 411 Broadway in Nashville, in December 2021. The space previously housed venues such as Paradise Park and the Downtown Sporting Club.
Brooks gave the world a first look at the bar and honky tonk back in November when he showed up at the venue for Garth Brooks' Amazon Music Live Concert on Black Friday. Some parts of the site, including two floors of the four-story building, have been closed for several weeks.
However, the March 7 grand opening will reveal all four floors of the 54,715-square-foot space. the opening will also include a police substation, developed in partnership with the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department.
The first two floors will pay tribute to classic honky-tonks and feature a custom, retractable live music stage, featuring the “Circle G” emblem, repurposed from the Central Park stage where Brooks played to record-breaking audiences of over 1. million people. The installation was installed by the same team that has toured the world with Brooks and will feature the largest LED screens on Lower Broadway in Nashville. On the first floor there will be two bars, a dance floor and plenty of seating. The second floor will offer two additional bars and a mezzanine overlooking the stage below.
The third floor will host intimate private event spaces, with a double-sided fireplace and intimate patio, for gatherings of up to 250 guests. The fourth floor of the rooftop, called The Oasis, will feature two full bars.
So far, Friends in Low Places Bar and Honky Tonk have featured limited menus, but the upcoming grand opening will highlight a menu featuring recipes from musician/author/TV star and Brooks' wife Trisha Yearwood, drawing from his cookbooks Yearwood and her TV. projection Trisha's Southern Kitchen and includes food like meatloaf, friendly chicken with white sauce and plenty of side dishes. The honky-tonk's food menu will be available 11am-9pm, seven days a week.
“If you're one of the lucky ones who come to this city and receive its many blessings, don't you owe Nashville something?” Brooks said in a statement. “Garth Brooks owes a lot to Music City.”
“I can't imagine a Georgian honky-tonk without Trisha Food!” Added Yearwood. “It's an honor to be a part of something so exciting and so big and to work alongside the love of my life doing it. The whole team at Friends In Low Places are incredible!”
Friends in Low Places will be open seven days a week, from 11am. to 2 a.m. on Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
On Tuesday evening (February 20), Brooks will be on TalkShopLive starting at 7 p.m. shirts, hats, tote bags, pint glasses and shot glasses.
