The Grateful Dead will be honored as the 2025 MusiCares People of the Year during an event taking place during Grammy weekend on Friday, January 31.
The event, which will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, will include a tribute concert to the stars. The list of participating artists has yet to be revealed, but will likely include a variety of stars past and present, with members of The Dead also participating.

Proceeds from the event will benefit MusiCares, which provides essential health and human services to music professionals.
Previous MusicCares People of the Year winners include Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Lionel Richie and Jon Bon Jovi.
The Grateful Dead will also be recognized as part of the 2024 Kennedy Center Honors.
