You must have had a change of heart, like halfway through
Because your voice dropped right as you passed my exit sign
Keep driving straight and leave our future on the right
Now I'm stuck between my anger and the responsibility I can't face
Memories are something that even smoking weed can't replace
And the weather scares me because I see you when it rains
My doctor told me to travel, but there is COVID on planes
And I love Vermont, but it's stick season
And I saw your mom, forget I exist
And it's half my fault, but I like playing the victim
I will drink alcohol until my friends come home for Christmas
And I'll dream every night of some version of you
Which I may not have but I didn't lose
Now you are tire tracks and a pair of shoes
And I'm torn down the middle, but this will have to be done
So I thought if I piled some good on top of all my bad
That I could undo the darkness I inherited from Dad
No, I'm not funny anymore because I miss the way you laugh
Once you called me forever, now you still can't call me back
And I love Vermont, but it's stick season
And I saw your mom, forget I exist
And it's half my fault, but I like playing the victim
I will drink alcohol until my friends come home for Christmas
And I'll dream every night of some version of you
Which I may not have but I didn't lose
Now you are tire tracks and a pair of shoes
And I'm torn down the middle, but this will have to be done
Ah, that will have to do
You were my other half
I hope this pain passes
But I doubt it
And I love Vermont, but it's stick season
And I saw your mom, forget I exist
And it's half my fault, but I like playing the victim
I will drink alcohol until my friends come home for Christmas
And I'll dream every night of some version of you
Which I may not have but I didn't lose
Now you are tire tracks and a pair of shoes
And I'm torn down the middle, but this will have to be done
I have to do
