London-based duo Good Neighbors made their debut Advertising signIt charted for the first time a week earlier, and now, the pair is officially a Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, thanks to their debut single 'Home.'
The song, released Jan. 17 via Some Action, arrives on the Hot 100 dated Feb. 10 at No. 77 led by 5.8 million official US streams (up 114%) from Jan. 26-Feb. 1, according to Luminate. It also jumps 18-7 on Hot Alternative Songs, 23-7 on Hot Rock Songs and 28-10 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs (all using the same multimetric methodology as the Hot 100).
Good Neighbors is the new project from Oli Fox and Scott Verrill. Before the official audio of the song was released, a part of the demo of the track went viral on TikTok, where the band has over 50,000 followers. Due to the current standoff between Universal Music Group and TikTok, the audio is no longer available on the platform.
“We wanted to write a song about the moment you hold a loved one after being apart,” the pair said in a recent interview with Zane Lowe. “It's such a small moment that has always created a visceral feeling for me.”
“Home” is Good Neighbors' first and only release to date. Outside of the band, Fox has been releasing solo music since 2018. He has released two EPs: Sunburnt in 2021 and The season in 2022. Verrill also records solo music, under the name Good Scott (previously kwassa).
