New Orleans punk-rap duo $uicideboy$ scores their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 4) thanks to their new single, “Us Vs. Them.”
Released March 29 on G*59 Records, the track debuts at No. 96 almost entirely from streaming: 6.4 million official US clicks (up 32%) in the April 19-25 tracking week, according to Luminate. It also debuts on Hot Rap Songs at No. 22 and re-enters Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at a new high of No. 26. In the latest list, it is the act's highest ranking among eight entries to date.
“Us Vs. Them” is the lead single from his upcoming fourth full-length, New global depressionwith an expiration date of June 14.
$uicideboy$ consists of cousins $crim (real name Scott Arceneaux Jr.) and Ruby da Cherry (real name Aristos Petrou), who hail from Marrero and Metairie, La., in the New Orleans metropolitan area, respectively. The duo grew their following on SoundCloud after first releasing recordings to the streaming service in 2014. The name $uicideboy$ reportedly came from a suicide pact where if their joint musical venture didn't work out, they would have nothing left to live for .

Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation reached No. 1 on the 2022 Top Rap Albums chart, earning the duo their first multi-metric leader Advertising sign chart. Twosome has also released several EPs and mixtapes since 2014.
The duo launched their own independent record label, G*59 Records, in 2017, distributed by Virgin. The label also features Chetta, Germ, Nightlovell, Rvimrxz and Shakewell on its roster.
“When we started out, we wanted to do the exact opposite of what everyone in rap was doing,” said Ruby da Cherry. Advertising sign in 2021. “We didn't have nice cars or gold chains, so we just pretended to be losers and mixed in some shock raps and stuff about our mental health issues. We're just trying to get people's attention.”
The pair was also a strong tour. Finished at No. 4 on Advertising signRecap of the Top-Grossing Rap Tours of 2023, grossing $20.2 million and selling 214,000 tickets across 23 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. $uicideboy$ kick off their North American Greyday tour in August. It is scheduled to run until October, with support from Denzel Curry.
