Irish rock duo Dea Matrona today release new single 'Every Night I Want You', the third installment of their highly anticipated debut album 'For Your Sins', due out on May 3rd.
A softer release than previous singles 'Black Rain' and 'Stuck On You', 'Every Night I Want You' is a bright, insatiable pop rock track reminiscent of the best of The Cranberries and Fleetwood Mac. It's a track that further emphasizes Dea Matrona's musical diversity and the varied influences that help compose her debut album. The accompanying music video, with its grainy tones and swirling angles, gives off a distinctly feel-good '70s vibe.
Dea Matrona says about the track: “The guitar chords on 'Every Night I Want You' were inspired by some of the jazz standards I learned as a teenager after going through a jazz phase. We both wanted to honor The Cranberries with their iconic 'doos' that we added to the bridge. This is probably the most pop rock song on the album. We both thought that if this were on a Fleetwood Mac album, it would be a Christine McVie song. “We wanted something that felt good among the darker things on the record.”

The band are also today announcing a series of exclusive in-store acoustic performances during the album's release week across the UK. Starting May 2 at HMV Belfast, they will be playing special sets at some iconic record stores including Jacaranda in Liverpool, Vinyl Whistle in Leeds and Banquet Records in Kingston.
Dea Matrona has always been an exciting proposal. A duo that pushes genre boundaries in an authentic yet nostalgic way, their debut album 'For Your Sins' delivers a passion project like no other. An album that unites a heady mix of indie pop and rock with superb sophistication, influences from Fleetwood Mac, HAIM, The White Stripes and Arctic Monkeys. From the loud, prowling 'So Damn Dangerous' to the whimsical pop stunner 'Every Night I Want You', the low-end strums of 'Black Rain' and the country swing of 'Won't Feel Like This Forever', it delivers a slice of everything. The album is a completely self-made labor of love, with the band writing, recording and producing the album themselves.
Easily a Dea Matrona classic for long-time fans, but the perfect introduction for newcomers, it is designed to draw everyone into Dea Matrona's infectious aura.
Dea Matrona is made up of two school friends, Mollie McGinn and Orlaith Forsythe, who grew up busking their favorite rock 'n' roll anthems on the streets of Belfast. Covering people like 'Whole Lotta Love' by Led Zeppelin and 'Coming Home' by Simon & Garfunkel, reached an online community of 500,000 followers and racked up over 8 million views on YouTube. With their hard-hitting riffs and musical intensity, they have established a rare and sensational sound: rough and real but loaded with melody and style.
