“It” couple Jay Wheeler and Zhamira Zambrano took center stage to deliver a swoon-worthy performance at the 2024 Latin American Music Awards on Thursday (April 25).
Perfectly matched in all-black outfits, Zambrano in a sleek long dress and Wheeler in an all-leather ensemble, the lovebirds performed “Extrañándote” with a live orchestra for a more intimate touch. The song was released late last year, but has already become a timeless song perfect to help kick off the first 30 minutes of the Latin AMA ceremony.
The collaboration – the second single from her forthcoming debut album – scored Zambrano her first top 10 on Advertising signof the Latin Pop Airplay chart earlier this year. The special performance follows Wheeler's latest album, Música Buena Para Días Maloswhich was released earlier today.
The 2024 Latin American Music Awards took place Thursday, April 25, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Univision. Hitmakers Feid and Peso Pluma lead this year's nominations list with 12 nods each. The Colombian singer and Mexican star, who are nominated for the coveted artist of the year and album of the year awards, are followed by top contenders Bad Bunny (11), Grupo Frontera (11), Karol G (9), Shakira (9 ), Eslabon Armado (8) and Fuerza Regida (8).
Thalia, Becky G, Alejandra Espinoza and Carlos Ponce took part in the awards ceremony which was presented in a mix of English and Spanish, marking the first time any major US awards show had a bilingual broadcast.
