While Star Wars Fans have a lot of issues with both the prequel trilogies and the sequels that followed the first three classics that George Lucas blessed us with, the spinoff shows that streaming on Disney+ have garnered a lot of love and support. Now another series will come that will go even deeper Star Wars universe.
On Tuesday (March 20), Disney+ released their first trailer for a new Star Wars spinoff series dubbed The Follower which centers around a Jedi assassin and actually takes place 100 years before Star Wars prequel, The Phantom Menace. Judging by the trailer, the Jedi will have their hands full as they try to take down the young Sith in training, played by Amanda Stenberg
In the trailer we see this assassin wielding a red lightsaber so you know chaos is about to descend. We are with him. The cast also includes Carrie-Ann Moss and Jodie Turner-Smith, as if we didn't need more reasons to tune in.
With the series set 100 years before the prequel movies, we doubt we'll see anyone from the OG Star Wars movie makes an appearance (Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, etc.), but Chewbacca and other role players are definitely on the table, and maybe even a legendary Sith or two might make a cameo or play a role in show after all is said and done.
Watch the trailer for The Follower below and let us know if you'll be checking it out when it premieres on Disney+ on June 4th. See photos in the gallery as well.
