Kelly Clarkson has admitted she likes to make a clean break when she splits up with someone.
The singer made the admission on The Kelly Clarkson Show, when she was interviewing rapper, Common.
“I just feel like it can get awkward,” she explained. “It depends on who ended it or who it is. It’s situational.”
When Common asked her if she’d stayed friends with any of her former partners, she replied, “No. Here’s the thing, I’m not not friends. I only have a couple that I’m just like ‘hard pass.'”
She added, “A couple of them are cool people, nothing wrong with them. If we ran into each other, we’d be totally friendly. But that’s the difference.”
Kelly, 41, finalised her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in 2022. The couple had been married since 2013 and are parents to daughter River Rose, nine, and son Remington, seven.
Brandon acted as Kelly’s manager during their marriage, and in November 2023 a court ruled he had overstepped his role when securing lucrative deals for Kelly. He was ordered to pay just over $2.6million (£2.075million) to his former wife.
