Before the global COVID-19 pandemic, one of Los Angeles' most enduring recent Christmas traditions was IHEARTCOMIX teaming up with Brownies and Lemonade for Los Angeles gives back. Benefiting a number of local charities dedicated to combating the homeless crisis here in Los Angeles, LA Gives Back previously took over the CatchOne club in Midtown Los Angeles and consistently hosted an all-ages holiday party. Now, after a three-year break, LA Gives Back will return to CatchOne on Wednesday, December 20.
Despite being away for the last two years after a virtual edition in 2020, this will actually be the sixth edition of LA Gives BACK. Originating in 2016, previous headliners included Bonobo, TOKiMONSTA, Boys Noize, A-Trak, SNL's Sarah Sherman, JPEGMafia, Louis The Child, Tim Heidecker & Weyes Blood, Eric André, Flying Lotus, etc., and more than They have played to a sold out crowd. Each year, IHC mobilizes Los Angeles' creative community to raise crucial funds for local organizations fighting homelessness year-round with 100% of the proceeds going to the Downtown Women's Center, My Friend's Place, and MásForMore.
“For Brownies & Lemonade, LA Gives Back is a very important annual event that we did not want to miss in our post-pandemic world. Bringing the Los Angeles music scene back together, with stellar programming, to raise funds for our city's homeless crisis is imperative and always makes the holidays feel like a season of giving.
“We are excited for LAGB to return and become a tradition for a new generation of Los Angeles music fans and hope it brings more awareness to this devastating human issue all year long.” –B&L
This year's edition is appropriately titled The Return; Tickets for this event are sure to fly fast, especially once the event's artists are announced tomorrow morning. Get your tickets here.
