Good things keep coming in threes for LCD Soundsystem. They've just announced another NYC residency, which will take place over three weekends this November and December at Knockdown Center in Queens. A flyer for the series promises that “special guest bands” will open the concerts. See all live dates below.
This marks the fourth year in a row that LCD Soundsystem has done a residency in New York, following shows in 2021, 2022 and 2023—though the first of those was canceled due to rising COVID-19 rates. These particularly live sets aren't just for their hometown, as they've also done residencies in London, Philadelphia and Boston, with one more happening soon in Los Angeles.
In 2020, band leader James Murphy posted a lengthy “state of the union” update on LCD Soundsystem, where he addressed the band's 20th anniversary, residencies, and the potential for new music. That same year, LCD Soundsystem released “New Body Rhumba” for the Netflix adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel. White Noise.
