Leonardo DiCaprio is attached to play Frank Sinatra in a new biopic from Martin Scorsese.
Variety broke news of the project on Wednesday, while also noting that Jennifer Lawrence is in line to play Sinatra’s second wife, actress Ava Gardner. Not surprisingly, the film is reportedly drawing major interest from studios, including Sony and Apple, but must still receive approval from Sinatra’s daughter, Tina, who controls her later father’s estate.
The project would mark the seventh film DiCaprio and Scorsese have worked on together, following Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, and last year’s Killers of the Flower Moon.
