The second annual Kelce Jam — the music festival hosted by Travis Kelce — is scheduled. The event will return to Kansas City on Saturday, May 18 with headline performances from Lil Wayne, Diplo and 2 Chainz. “Kansas City are you ready to fight for your right to party!?” the Kansas City Chiefs player posted on Instagram announcing the event.
“Kansas City, Kelce Jam is back baby! I am excited to once again welcome fans for the ultimate day of music, food and an electric experience celebrating Kansas City,” Kelce added in a press statement. “Last year you exceeded my expectations when over 20,000 fans showed up in the rain to 'fight for your right to party' and this year promises to be even higher as we welcome Lil Wayne, Diplo and 2Chainz to the stage!”
Kelce Jam will host 20,000 attendees at the Azura Amphitheater for seven hours, starting at 5 p.m. The general on-sale for the event will begin Friday, April 5 at 10 a.m. CT. Pre-sales will last all week.
Last year's event was hosted by Machine Gun Kelly, Loud Luxury and Rick Ross during Draft Weekend 2023. “It was so big I had to do it again this year. I'm so excited,” Kelce said festival-taylor-swift-1235864813/” target=”_blank”>The Hollywood Reporter. “I wanted to keep it fresh and new.”
He added: “It's going to be so, so much fun and I can't wait to get back and celebrate with KC, man. It's just a blast every time we can get together to celebrate these sides [Super Bowl wins] one last time.”
Kelce's celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs' second straight Super Bowl victory began in the hours after the game ended, when he was spotted at after parties across Las Vegas. Taylor Swift was with him for a few of them, including one where the pair shared a sweet moment during an EDM remix of “Love Story.” The group returned to Las Vegas a few weeks later for one more party, this time stopping at the Wynn Las Vegas to watch Marshmello play his ongoing residency at XS Nightclub.
When it comes to musicianship, Kelce knows when to stay in his lane — it's a lesson Swift taught him. “It's in a whole other stratosphere. She is the best at what she does for a reason. It's because she's so articulate and very careful in everything she does,” he said. The Hollywood Reporter. “I'd be a fool to ever try to take anything from what he does other than enjoy the people who show up. I think that's one thing I could probably take away: It's really about the people he's playing in front of, so I'll take it.”
However, the jock has committed to being Kelce Jam's resident hype man, joking: “You'll see me up there with the mic having fun and trying to keep the crowd hyped and everyone excited for the next act. But yeah, I can't help myself, man. Once I get a microphone in my hand, you never know what I'm going to do.”
