Lovers & Friends 2024 was canceled at the last minute due to the threat of high winds and severe weather in Las Vegas on Saturday.
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Las Vegas with the threat of sustained wind gusts exceeding 60 miles per hour. “Following the advice of the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists and staff and cancel tomorrow's Lovers & Friends Festival,” organizers said in a statement.
“This was an incredibly heartbreaking decision as we are aware that fans have traveled from all over the world to enjoy this incredible lineup of superstars and have been waiting for this event for several months,” the statement added. “We have worked hard to create an incredible event for you and we are as disappointed as you are.”
The one-day hip-hop and R&B festival would take place at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds and feature a lineup that included Usher, Janet Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Nas and Alicia Keys. , Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado, Ludacris, Ciara, TLC, MIA, Nelly and Timbaland, among others.
Ticket holders will receive a refund within 30 days to the original form of payment.
