Some of the music The most talked-about stars descended on Los Angeles on Sunday for the NAHMIAS Spring/Summer 2025 show, which showcased designer Doni Nahmias' vision of a edgy yet dystopian high school experience.
Held at the Pan Pacific Park Gymnasium in West Hollywood, the show featured Iann Dior, Ice Cube (with his son Sharef Jackson), Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker, whose son, Landon, joined the show. MGK, meanwhile, was the surprise musical performer, taking the stage to perform with a four-piece band while models walked down a makeshift catwalk in the center of an indoor basketball court.
Machine Gun Kelly arrived at the NAHMIAS show straight from a Spotify party at CMA Fest in Nashville the night before, and the singer's alt-rock tunes were the perfect soundtrack to Nahmias' new collection, which worked on elements of grunge, skateboarding and alternative 90s styles. At one point, MGK changed the lyrics of his song “Die in California” from “Got on Prada shoes and Prada tee” to “Got on Prada shoes and my NAHMIAS tee,” much to the delight of the crowd, which also included athletes such as Jalen Green and Asante Samuel.
Entitled 'Physical Education', the collection deftly combined sportswear with workwear, drawing inspiration from Nahmias' California upbringing (as seen in tailored jeans and floral prints) and his love of sports (with models wearing fishnet jerseys and high-waisted tracksuits). The collection was also a love letter to Nahmia's teenage self, retrieving his “troubled formative years” – as stated in the show's liner notes – and transforming his youthful memories into a “vibrant narrative of evolution and perseverance”.
The dichotomies of Nahmia's past and present were evident throughout the performance. One look saw one model step out in a 'Miracle Youth Detention Center' printed jumpsuit, while another wore a (fake) ankle-tracking bracelet over his NAHMIAS Ollies trainers. But models also walked the runway in leather suits, luxurious knitwear and more tailored pieces as well, showcasing Nahmias' incredible versatility and growth as a designer. In a press release, Nahmias described his new collection as “a celebration of personal growth and the joyous journey of self-discovery,” and that theme was clear.
This was the first appearance of the NAHMIAS brand in Los Angeles after years of showing in Paris. The fashion show follows NAHMIAS' recent collaboration with the NHL's Arizona Coyotes and a new capsule collection presented at F1 Monaco Grand Prix.
