Making Memories Festival is set to return for its fourth annual edition on Saturday, November 9th at Los Angeles’ State Historic Park and will feature sets from White Denim and Jackie Mendez & The Steady 45’s, among others. Presented by Alzheimer’s Los Angeles and curated by NextFest, the event raises awareness and funds for the free services and care that the long-standing organization provides for families living with Alzheimer’s in Southern California. Music stimulates neural pathways that are often unaffected by dementia, allowing people to reconnect with meaningful moments from their lives, and Alzheimer’s LA believes in using the healing power of music to bring the community together. See the full lineup and learn how to get tickets below.
In addition to White Denim and Jackie Mendez & The Steady 45’s, Making Memories Festival 2024 will also feature performances from Boogaloo Assassins, Circle the Earth, and Monalisa. Other attractions include local food trucks, community building opportunities, and informational booths.
Alzheimer’s Los Angeles is the oldest community-based organization in Los Angeles serving Alzheimer’s patients, offering their resources and services to local families free of charge. Learn more about the organization here.
“Alzheimer’s disease is the second leading cause of death in Los Angeles County,” said president and CEO of Alzheimer’s Los Angeles Heather Cooper Ortner. “There are approximately 190,000 people living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia in our community today, and it’s expected that number will triple by 2060. Now is the time to conquer the stigma that still surrounds this disease and ensure that everyone has access to linguistically and culturally appropriate care.”
Tickets are available now for $25 via Making Memories Festival’s website.
