All Lambily wants for Christmas is Mariah Carey — and they're getting it again. The Queen of Christmas announced on Friday (August 2) that her annual Christmastime tour is returning for 2024, but with a little something extra to celebrate.
“It's not time yet, but I have exciting news‼️” the five-time Grammy winner teased in the caption of her Instagram post announcing the Christmas Time tour. In the photo, Carey wears a sparkly red dress that hugs her curves while standing in front of a festive fireplace, with four decorated Christmas trees and piles of presents behind her.
According to the press release, the tour will be Carey's “biggest show to date” and will celebrate the 30th anniversary of her hit 1994 album Merry Christmas, which reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 all-genre. Apart from the superstar's classic holiday songs, the show is also expected to feature other chart toppers. The outlet also claimed that the Christmas tour is just the “first of many surprises” Carey has planned to celebrate her holiday album.
The 20-date trek will kick off on November 6th in Highland, California, with scheduled stops in Los Angeles, Atlanta, DC, Boston and more before wrapping up on December 17th in New York City at Brooklyn's Barclay's Arena.
In the 2023 holiday season, the iconic singer's “All I Want for Christmas Is You” notched a record 17th week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 on the Dec. 30-dated chart. The Yuletide favorite also topped the Billboard Global Ex. USA tally for 12th frame that week.
As for last year's holiday tour — called Merry Christmas One and All! trek — earned Carey her best concert turnout in a quarter of a century. The 15-date run grossed $29.6 million and sold 214,000 tickets, according to numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore.
