Liam Payne, AJ McLean, Kelly Rowland and Nicole Scherzinger know a thing or two about being in a group. Nicole even had a hand in creating Liam's hit group One Direction. AJ will host the new show, while Nicole will be the mentor and judge, with Kelly and Liam on the judging panel. 'Building the Band' will bring together a number of talented singers and ask them to form their own bands without even seeing each other. Isolated in individual booths, all they'll take into account when selecting their bandmates is musical compatibility, connection, chemistry and merit, according to a statement. It's like 'X Factor' meets 'Love Is Blind.' The contestants are in good hands: AJ is a member of the Backstreet Boys, Liam went through the reality TV band-building machine on 'X Factor,' while Destiny's Child's Kelly and Pussycat Dolls' Nicole were judges on 'X Factor.'
